JOB Discribtion:
The Role We have an immediate opening for a Software Engineer with strong technical and communication skills, with passion for designing and developing data protection software for VMware, Hyper- V and other virtualization environment.
Your First Six Months Specific Objectives and Responsibilities:
Gain broad understanding of architecture of Carbonite products, API interfaces and how they are used
Review current solutions for VMware/ Hyper- V and develop strong understanding of the internal workings of the product
Start contributing to VMware/ Hyper- V agent features and develop fixes for the customer issues
Work closely with local and remote QA teams to ensure that high quality standards are maintained
Participate in project sprint planning, execution, testing and releases in an Agile methodology Six to Twelve Months and Beyond
Contribute to the development of next generation virtualization solution
Work on scaling and performance tuning of the virtualization solution
Keep up to date with latest technologies, products, APIs from VMware, Microsoft and other virtualization vendors
Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts to increase team productivity, efficiency and overall quality of the products What Will Make You Successful At Carbonite

Highly autonomous and able to independently identify high value projects and drive them completion
Demonstrated leadership capability in cross- functional team environments
High degree of comfort with complex technical environments

Object oriented design and C#/ C++/ .NET software development skills
Expert in VMware virtualization Storage APIs (Vsphere, VADP, VAIO, CBT)
Experience in developing Windows kernel drivers (block and file system filter drivers)
Experience working with Agile methodologies (SCRUM, CI, Test driven development)
Experience with Amazon Web Services or Azure
