Job Description :
1. Assisting the iCRC Local Head to plan and allocate team resources; to identify and manage peaks and troughs in workload.
2. Agree and monitor scope of works with the iCRC Local Head
3. Undertake assessment of existing bridges and preparing assessment reports
4. Carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair.
5. Prepare bridge design and strengthening design to WSP and UK standards ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards and WSP WoW procedures
6. Carry out design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) inclusive of providing guidance to junior engineers
7. Oversee the work of Junior team members
8. Develop positive professional relationships with the WSP UK teams, communicating openly about project progress
9. Liaise with the WSP UK internal clients and Local iCRC Head to ensure that project requirements are fully understood and essential elements of the role are satisfactorily completed to time and fee
10. Be self-motivated and take on project work with a clear focus on timeliness, quality and technical excellence.
11. Assist the UK iCRC Head in providing regular reports and updates to WSP UK and India management teams
12. Actively deliver on the iCRC Charter promises
13. Identify needs and expectations of the UK Client Team, agree and confirm project brief including deliverables and programme
14. Agree the project fees according to brief, resource required and programme
15. Assist the iCRC Local Head in identifying changes to the brief and implementing strict change control procedures
16. Assist the iCRC Local Head in planning the delivery of the projects and for communicating the plan to other iCRC staff and UK Client Team
17. Assist the iCRC Local Head in carrying out regular Technical Reviews and promoting technical excellence in all projects
18. Supervise the preparation and checking of calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other documents to the required standards.
19. Carry out in-team checking of work produced by team members
20. Present own project work for technical review and sign off by project leader including all calculations
21. Prepare or supervise others in compiling drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence within given deadlines including checking compliance with the project brief
22. In conjunction with Team Leader agree appropriate use of manual calculations or appropriate software for Computer Aided Design, construct models and undertake analysis and manual checks
23. Participate in team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP
24. Demonstrate an awareness of project risk issues, flagging potential problems to team leader
25. Prepare elemental work for project budget costing as delegated by the senior team member, within agreed deadlines and standards
26. Be responsible for planning own work and carrying out self-checks
27. Lead the design process encouraging the team to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions to the agreed programme
28. Lead from the front accepting design challenges, giving them due consideration with the support of others to achieve resolution.
29. Ensure health and safety risk assessments are routinely carried out and reviewed for all projects, ensuring full documentation of actions taken to mitigate or avoid risks
30. Deal with the day to day queries from the UK Client Team, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for construction activity• Agree priorities and deadlines with Project Engineer
31. Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Project Plan and project delivery is to time and quality expected by UK Client Teams to help encourage repeat work
32. Manage project resource requirements within available fee
33. Maintain project EVA to monitor project progress and identify divergence to Project Engineer in a timely mannern.
Cndidate Profile:
1. B.Eng. (Civil Engineering) / M.Tech (Structures)
2. Experience of having worked in a similar role.
