Job Role Senior Software Engineer – Embedded(c/c++,windows)
JOB Discribtion:
The candidate is responsible for developing embedded applications for POS terminals and other payment solutions. Proficiency in C/C++ and experience writing unit tests is required. A proven ability to create design specifications and develop software that meets customer requirements, fulfills overall product requirements, and achieves defined performance criteria is important. The role applies structured development methodologies, code documentation, unit testing, and continuous integration to enhance overall software quality.
Key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
– Develop UI and communication protocols for embedded applications that handle secure payment processing (PKI, 3DES, DUKPT, MAC, etc.), cryptographic key loading, and merchant estate management.
– Implement industry standard protocols and adapt customer protocol specifications to match product capabilities.
– Create application design specifications (sequence and state-transition diagrams) and participate in architectural review.
– Creating, maintaining, and execute application unit tests as part of Continuous Integration.
– Analyze bug reports and manage the defect resolution process (disposition issues, resolve issues, and report issue status).
REQUIREMENTS:
– BE or equivalent experience.
– 6+ years of C/C++ in embedded or low-level development.
– Strong in Algorithms, Data Structures, Memory Management, Exception handling, etc.
– Must have experience architecting and developing multithreaded applications.
– Experience using modern software development practices (secure coding, test driven development (TDD), code documentation, etc.) is required.
– Strong analytical and problem solving skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
– Excellent communication and organizational skills.
– Must be a self-starter who is highly organized, hands-on, and focused on continuing professional development.
– Must be experienced in handling Agile teams and must be able to mentor team members technically
The following skills are a plus:
– Prior embedded experience with a RTOS (ARM, MIPS, etc.).
– Experience developing on embedded Linux, QNX, VxWorks, or Nucleus.
– Cross platform development using Qt.
– Experience with Python, Perl, or Ruby scripting.
– Experience managing software project under Continuous Integration experience with Bamboo or Hudson.
– Prior experience working within an Agile development methodology.
– Prior experience with UML.
– Work experience in Aerospace or Department of Defense (DoD).
– Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Bamboo, FishEye, Confluence, etc.).
