IGCAR was established in the year 1971, under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.The centre is engaged in broad based multidisciplinary programme of scientific research and advanced engineering directed towards the development of Fast Breeder Reactor technology.Fast Breeder Test Reactor based on unique mixed Plutonium Uranium Carbide fuel, First of its kind in the world and KAMINI Reactor, the only operating Reactor in the World using U233 fuel are successfully operated.The design of 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor is completed and the construction is in progress.
Job Description:
Candidate profile:
The candidate must be an Indian national. The candidate should be less than 28 years of age as on 01.07. 2014 (date of birth 1st July 1986 or later). A relaxation of up to 5 years in age can be given in case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe applicants, 3 years in case of Other Backward Class applicants and 10 years in case of Physically Challenged applicants.
The qualifying degrees for the above projects should be in one of the following
disciplines:
a) Physics
b) Materials Science
c) Chemistry
d) Computer Science
e) Metallurgy
f) Materials Science & Engineering
g) Materials Technology
h) Applied Physics
i) Applied Electronics
j) Chemical Engineering
(Those who have obtained their B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering under
the category of petroleum, polymer, sugar, oil, soap technology etc., are not
eligible to apply)
k) Mechanical Engineering
l) Atmospheric Science
m) Nuclear Engineering/Nuclear Science & Technology
n) Library and Information Science
