For more than 150 years, the Department of Posts (DoP) has been the backbone of the country’s communication and has played a crucial role in the country’s socio-economic development. It touches the lives of Indian citizens in many ways: delivering mails, accepting deposits under Small Savings Schemes, providing life insurance cover under Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) and providing retail services like bill collection, sale of forms, etc. The DoP also acts as an agent for Government of India in discharging other services for citizens such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) wage disbursement and old age pension payments. With 1, 55,015 Post Offices, the DoP has the most widely distributed postal network in the world.

Job Description:

1. Postal/Sorting Assistants: Under sports quota in the pay scaie of Rs.5200-20200 (Pay Band-l) with grade pay of Rs 2400/-.

2. Postman: Under sports quota in the pay scale of Rs. 5200-20200 (Pay Band-I) withgrade pay of Rs. 2000/-.

3. MTS: Under sports quota in the pay scale of Rs. 5200-20200 (Pay Band-l) with grade pay of Rs. 1800

Age Limit:

should be between 18 and 27 years as on the last date prescribed for receipt of applications ie. 19.01.2015 with permissible relaxation in upper age limit as per rules for SC/ST/OBC.

Application Fee:

All the Applicants have to pay an application fee of Rs100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) and it should be deposited/ paid in any Post Office in A.P. Postal Circle and submit original receipt along with application. Candidate has to check carefully whether name of candidate and the purpose of credit is clearly printed on the receipt.
