Job Description :
Construction technicians can work in general construction, or receive training in a specialization. Construction technicians in general construction typically work in building construction and earn most of their skills on-the-job or through a training program. They can work in a variety of construction projects, such as new construction or rehab, and often have skills in areas such as carpentry, electrical or plumbing.
Some technicians choose to enter the construction field through training programs that offer concentrations in construction management, drafting or inspection technology. In management, technicians help supervisors manage construction projects either in the field or at the office. In construction drafting, technicians usually work in the surveying, civil engineering or architecture fields. As construction inspectors, they may physically inspect buildings and review building plans.
