Job Role Principal Software Engineer (automation)
JOB Discribtion:
PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER (AUTOMATION)
Design, Develop, maintain the test automation frameworks and also to understand & enhance the existing automation framework(s) for better usage. Should be a part of the team to implement CI/CD pipeline for the NSG product-line (legacy and futuristic) to have faster feedback, automated quality process and hence, quicker product deliveries.
Duties & Responsibilities
Principal Software Engineer (Automation) will be responsible for the following:
Work with other teams, functions or product groups to coach and mentor on automation adaptation, & CI/CD best practices
Close interaction with Engineering Managers/Team Leads, Product Managers, Architects, Scrum Masters, and Development & QE team members
Research new automation approaches and trends within the industry and drive these across NSG where appropriate
Keen troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
Ability to identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the overall teams capabilities
Develop and Enhance Test automation frameworks
Develop CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous integration and deployment
Active Participation in Design discussions and Architecture discussions
Represent Automation team in various cross functional meeting as and when required
Experience, Skills & Abilities
Should have minimum of 10 years of experience in IT/SW industry (esp. in Information Security, Networking, Internet/Web)
Should have strong knowledge/working experience in developing CI/CD pipeline using chef, Jenkins, Maven, GitHub and Perl/Shell script/Java/Python.
Should have working experience of CI/CD different Tools, AWS/Azure cloud.
Strong hands-on knowledge and experience in developing test automation frameworks
Strong experience in Selenium, Groovy
Experience with the Agile Methodology and continuous integration (i.e. nightly built and release) is a plus.
Good knowledge on Virtualization and Cloud architecture
Decent knowledge in Security and Networking.
Experience designing and implementing testing tools and systems
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum.
Prior working knowledge of networking server technologies and protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, Radius, DNS and Proxy Servers, Load Balancers) is a plus.
Understanding of Multi-platform issues for UNIX, Mac and Windows environments.
