Candidate Profile :
- Currently studying (or bachelor’s degree in) computer science, software engineering, or a related subject
- A passion for open source software
- Willingness to work on font technology and development
- Interested in improving Linux open source support for Indic scripts
- Experience with Linux development is preferred
- Knowledge of font technology, including the FontForge tool, would be a plus
Job Responsibilities :
- Learn and understand OpenType fonts, including GSUB and GPOS rules
- Rewrite the OpenType tables for Lohit Bengali, Devanagari, Gujarati, Oriya, Telugu, and Kannada
- Ensure that the final version of these fonts work on both Fedora and Windows
