Ford Motor Company has an opening on our SYNC team. This is a Product Development role with a focus on SYNC AppLink. Selected candidate will work with the latest technologies, smart phones, and web services, and will work with leaders and developers from around the world from major names in technology.

We are seeking an Android/iOS Mobile Development Engineer at our Palo Alto, CA location.

Responsibilities:

Connected Vehicle & Services organization of Ford Motor Company is looking for a mobile technology savvy person that can assist our development team with creating new ways to connect mobile applications to the car. The qualified candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Develop and mature the APIs for Android/iOS.
Architecting future API designs based on product requirements and Android/iOS capabilities.
Grow and support the global AppLink SDK, developer tooling and other partner/developer resources.
Developing and running unit tests and test scenarios for new and existing AppLink products.
Managing business and technical relationships with external partners.
Supporting vehicle and mobile application launch activities.
Delivering global solutions for in-vehicle and mobile technologies

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
3+ years of work and or academic experience in either Android (Java) or iOS (Objective-C)

Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Disciplines above or BS in those plus MBA
3+ years solid Understanding in software Engineering,
1+ years solid understanding of Business requirements and developing software
3+ year’s solid understanding of Information Technology skills (production support, other software development platforms, networking.
Strong Functional Knowledge and Experience both, JAVA and Objective-C.
Basic knowledge in Swift.
Working knowledge of OpenGL.
Passion for Mobile Technologies.

Responsibilities
Functional testing of Shared IDM Sustaining patch releases involving Java, Middle-ware, Oracle DB
Automate functional tests using standard automation frameworks
Debug failures, file accurate bug reports and follow up with Dev, TPM teams on the resolution
Participate in release planning activities and daily stand-up meetings
Work closely with globally distributed cross-functional teams to deliver high quality results consistently

Qualifications
5-6 years of experience in testing / development preferably
Strong experience with Core Java, WebLogic Server, Oracle DB, SQL
Experience with Functional testing, testing of Cloud based enterprise applications, middleware and infrastructures
Experience with API test automation with tools such TestNG, JUnit, and Selenium.
Domain knowledge and experience in Identity Management Products will be an added advantage
Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python)
Experience with working on UNIX/Linux platforms
Knowledge of software development life cycle, preferably Agile methodologies
Strong debugging and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills, and the ability to be a team player
Ability to learn independently, solve problems, and identify the best technical solution for an issue
